Cooper, the Super Dog!
Cooper is a Sheltie rescued from a local animal shelter by Fresh Start Sheltie Rescue located in Bartlett, Tennessee (near Memphis). He was injured, shaved, heartworm positive, intact, and had VERY bad arthritis in both elbows. This blog is his 'diary' of getting a new elbow (total elbow replacement surgery) at the University of Missouri.

I *love* this picture!!! It looks as if Cooper is saying, "Surprise, Daddy! Happy Birthday! I'm coming home for your birthday present!" It's hard to tell who looks the happiest in this picture, isn't it? Jay looks as if he's going to burst with joy and pride over "his boy" and Cooper looks as if his laughing with such gusto!
Cooper is definitely a "daddy's boy" of the highest order. He likes me OK but he's so much in love with his daddy. They are inseparable and Cooper hates it when Jay leaves to go to work. I know he loves me, too, but if Daddy is around it's "Mommy who."
What a great surprise it was to get to bring him home. We weren't prepared but we improvised. :o) Whatever it would've taken to get our Super Cooper home!
We love the Super Trooper Cooper!
